Research Interests

  • Human Data Interaction: I am studying and designing interactive visualizations for understanding large and high-dimensional data. My goal is to create tools that facilitate both knowledge discovery and knowledge dissemination through novel exploration mechanisms. I also work on designing algorithms and a system architecture for supporting large scale visualizations.

  • 2014, Reading Group: One of the coordinators of Pitt’s visualization reading group
  • 2013 – Now, PhD Research: Human Data Interaction, under supervision of Prof. Nourbakhsh, Carnegie Mellon University
    • 2015, EVA and LEHD: Will host a workshop at Census on using EVA and LEHD datasets for knowledge discovery and knowledge dissemination
    • 2013, Planetarium: Collaborating with Carnegie Science Center for visualizing Time Machines on their Planetarium
  • 2010 – 2013, PhD Research: Human Swarm Interaction, under supervision of Prof. Lewis, University of Pittsburgh
  • Summer 2012 Internship: Working at CREATE Lab at Robotics Institute, under supervision of Prof. Nourbakhsh, Carnegie Mellon University
    • Cluster Deployment: An automatic system for creating a cluster on top of Google Compute Engine cloud infrastructure and then deploying Time Machine jobs
    • Time Machine Compiler: Working on both front end and back end of Time Machine compiler
  • Summer 2011 Internship: Neural Tractography, Schneider Lab at LRDC, under supervision of Prof. Schneider, University of Pittsburgh
